Bowser currently offers a 3-bay rib side coal hopper (Model # 55168) for the Burlington Northern in boxcar red. All of the coal hoppers that I have seen for the BN are black. Was this somethign new immediately before the BNSF merger? Are they MOW hoppers? Thank you.

BN had some of the mow hoppers red and some gray that I have seen. All of the coal hoppers that I saw were either black or aluminum color.

It seems like I have seen BN MOW ballast hoppers painted brown. A hobby shop near me has one of the brown BN hoppers and its number is consistant with the BN MOW fleet. I do not know if BN ever had regular hoppers for MOW.
