What is the prefered bus wire, stranded or solid?
I prefer stranded. I used 14AWG wire for my buss and 20 AWG for track feeders on my home layout as well as when I rewired my clubs layout. Stranded wire is less likely to break due to movement or vibration. It also has a lower resistance than solid wire of the same gauge.
I use stranded for the bus, it’s easier to pull through the benchwork. I use solid for feeders, it’s easier to attach them to the track and push them down through the roadbed.
