Has anyone heard from Phil Creer at all? He has had bush fires go through where he lives in last week or so and about 8 people lost their lives.

Great Scott, another major natural disaster. I hope Phil is O.K. We are living in troubled times.
Yes this is true, I’m not sure where Phil lives in South Australia but he can’t live far from the Ayre Peninsula and they really copped it. Many houses burnt down, many mlillions of dollars worth of damage and eight people killed, burnt to deaath,
Lets hope Phil and his people are ok.

Thanks for the thoughts, Fellas, but we are all OK. The Eyre peninsula is about 150 miles west, the local big fire at Mt Osmond was about 4 miles away but no injuries with that one. This is a lovely place to live except for about 6 weeks per year and this is it!

Great to hear you’re fairing well thru the fires. Of course upload the pics of the stock care and make another class out of it. As soon as I figure out wether I want to buy a table saw or a band saw I think I’m gonna try to build something.

can I suggest for our scale that a small bandsaw is the way to go. I have an 8" table saw and a tiny hobby Ryobi bandsaw (9") & I use the bandsaw for nearly everything in 1:20.3.
For the stock car I just ripped down some 1/8" MDF into 1/16" thickness. The band saw is the ideal compromise tool, and if you can find the Ryobi copy made by a company called GMC it costs under A$100=US$75
Funny enough Phil I was looking at that GMC 9" Bandsaw yesterday at a local DIY store, comes with the miter slide a rip fence and a red line generator to help let you know where it’s going to cut.

Glad to hear you re alright too, Phil, It s nice to see that your pals are lookin out for ya, I m a firefighter in Montreal, Quebec, and know what its like to be worried about. Always nice to come back from an incident, cause there were times, I ve even wondered if I m going home today!!! Knew the risks involved with the job, and said to myself, Thats what I wanna do !!!
