I’ll be in southeast Georgia the week before Christmas and plan to go to Folkston to watch trains one of the days. Is there a day or days when traffic is generally heavier? I’ll probably be there between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, which I realize isn’t the best time because of the midday lull. Thanks.
From what I have whitten down on 4 different trips. 11-3 at Folkston is busy(to me), but will get busier around 1-3.
I will be in Folkston December 22 and 23.

I haven’t been to Folkston in years but from what I’ve heard it’s non-stop action devoid of anyting that coukd be called a lull.

I have been to Folkston on every day except Sunday.
Average frequency is three per hour–sometimes more.
Amtrak late at night or very early morning—except when behind schedule.
I have not noticed any real difference in what day is best.
Hope you have a good day train-watching.
Well not knowing for sure but I would suspect the days before/after Xmas/New Years may be a bit slow [:)]
