Buying an BAC25016/25017 in parts

I would like to buy a Bachmann BAC25016 or BAC25017 auto reversing street car set for my Christmas village. But because I live in the Netherlands, the shipment of such a set is very expensive (let alone that it is hard to find a webshop that ships to Europe or let me pay it by credit card or paypal).

That is why I want to know if it is possible to buy the street car, the track, the bumpers and the power pack (I’m not interested in the car barn) seperately to build a working auto reversing set. I know that I need special tracks for such a set (#44548 for the straigth tracks and #44549 for the curves). The bumpers should be #44491.

But I’ve also read in this forum (http://cs.trains.com/trccs/forums/p/82893/982553.aspx; second last post) that the car barn contains electronic parts. Is it a part of the auto reversing system (what does make the street car auto reverse anyway?) or it is just used to attach the tracks to the power pack?

So, is it possible to ‘build’ an auto reversing system from seperate parts?

No, I didn’t. To be honest, I’m quite unfamiliair with modeltrains and because of the fact that the thread that I mentioned in my opening post is in this subforum, I posted it here as well. I don’t think that double posts aren’t allowed here, but I will ask the mods what is wise to do.

I just found out that the barn houses a special auto reversion unit. As far as I know now, the auto reversing set can be build from different parts, but it also needs the special auto reversion unit.
