I have ordered both directly from Walthers and through my LHS. Don’t have to pay shipping at LHS. But they do mark up the item. Bottom Line is cheaper for me to order directly from Walthers.

There’s nothing wrong with Walthers sales. I bought one of their Trainline locomotives and liked it so well, I buoght a couple more. I had one problem with another item, but it was quickly taken care of. You can sign up at their website and receive their sales flyer, called “The Terminal”.
I have ordered from the sale catalog several times, always an easy experiance, if you order over the $100.00, free shipping, thay have called me when they were out of something so that I could make up the 100.00,
The web site I order from will offer a 15% discount off the Walthers price or the Walthers sale price (whichever is less). If the item is not in their stock, they will order from Walthers on these terms.

My LHS as others do, if you order it out of the catalog 15% off walthers price, no shipping. For that convience I can wait the 1 week.
