Does anyone know how to get setup to buy trains and supplys wholesale to resale in my antiques and collectables shop, I would like to carry a complete line for my customers reply here or to wilsonann01@hotmail.com thanks for any help you can give me…
It wouldn’t be too hard to contact the manufacturer, or Walthers–give them your reseller’s license information and ask for dealer information. Walthers in particular would be a good starting point, they distribute to many hobby shops and many folks order Walthers items via their local hobby shop.
Dealing with individual companies directly wouldn’t be a bad idea either if you knew specifically what you were looking to carry, but Walthers (www.walthers.com) would be a good place to start.
Most companies will want proof that you are operating a business. Walthers is no exception. Look for a hobby distributer in your area. They handle a wide variety of products, not just trains, and you can usually buy small quantities of any item.
I guess I did’nt give enough info, I’m not a person who is just looking for a deal on stuff for myself, I have ran a collectables type store for about 20 years I handle a full line of Erytl, Matel, TY, trading cards, Nascar items, Case XX pocket knives, Zippo lighters and I am looking to get into models and trains, thanks for any info you can give…I have contacted a few of the company’s directly
I thought you made that clear in your initial post–which is why I suggested calling Walthers and asking them for dealer information,.or check out this link:

to get hooked up with Walthers. Pretty much every hobby shop I’ve ever visited goes through Walthers for model railroad supplies, at least in part.
Another distributor and manufacturer is Bowser; see: http://www.bowser-trains.com/dealers/dealers.htm
Do you know anything about trains?
If so, review the merits of a second hand hobby train shop. Depending on the size of your community, local hobby interest and area dealers/clubs. There’s a market out
there for good quality second hand stuff. You already have a business that can
facilitate trades
I bet just about everybody wants to unload something. What choice is there, besides e-bay.
Thanks Jetrock, Walthers is sending me their dealer info looks good, thanks for all of help,
[:o)]Jetrock, that’s one dicount for you![:o)]
