Sorry to be late to this, but I just wanted to ad a little information.
When the L & N bought the “Pine” series cars in the early 50’s they got 22 of them as stated here. What was not said here is that N C & St L got 4, and C & E I got 3. They matched the L & N cars in color scheme, and were used as run through cars on the several trains these lines shared.
