I had a very odd dream the other night…it involved seeing all three of the Dash 9’s still floating around the UP in C&NW colors, but there was something different about them…they had their bells on the fronts of the nose, right below the headlights! And it got me to wondering, why did the C&NW not have nose bells on any GE units, like the Dash 8s or 9s? Most of the EMD units if I’m correct had the bells on their noses. A little history of the bell placement on the EMD units would be appreciated as well.
