C&O signal bridge gets new life

I’m glad to see someone has saved an old C&O signal bridge. I grew up in the Huntington-Charleston area during the era when they were used. I hated to see them go in 2009. The arrangement of the color lights in the upper and lower units was unique in American railroading.I wish more of them could have been saved.

An unexpected and creative reuse project. Glad to see they’re saving the car ferry apron, too. Rail marine operations are fascinating, but they’ve almost disappeared from North America.

I thought it was Van Sweringen.
