C&S / Union Pacific 2-10-2s?

Did Union Pacific barrow 2-10-2 from Colorado & Southern? I’ve seen large UP 2-10-2s that retain the UP family look, but others I think ressemble C&S units. Did UP copy the design or just barrow and repaint a few units?

I’m not sure what features you’re looking at but AFAIK they didn’t borrow any from C&S. UP had 2-10-2’s from all three builders, the first ones from Baldwin in 1917. These had high mounted headlights similar to C&S practice. A batch built by Lima in 1923 had various feedwater heaters, one even had an Elesco mounted on top of the smokebox. The Baldwin’s & Lima’s as delievered had Sunbeam headlights instead of the more common Pyle used on most Alco-built UP power. Some of the 2-10-2’s received large square tenders from the war-baby C&O 2-8-8-2’s that were scrapped shortly after the war. A few of these worked on the Colorado division.
