Hi guys, I just finished work on the two C630’s I still have a couple of things to do on 2023. 2013 took a tumble off my layout on its first test run about 4.5’ high right on to the concrete floor, and with 2 massive lead weights inside all the parts went in every which way. It took me 3 days to find the bell, amazingly nothing broke you can see it here after the accident.
Nice work, Artur, and nice to see that you did one in my all-time favourite modern paint scheme for any railroad. Here’s a sister to your models’ prototypes:
Those are nice looking diesels, but I believe that they’re FA/FB2s, probably as close as you’ll see to a commercially available plastic FPA/FPB4.
I modified a couple of the old Model Power FA/FB units (some say they were a cross between a 1 and a 2) to more closely ressemble the prototype FPA/FPB4s, then lettered them for my own road, using a derivative of the CNR freight paint scheme. The steam generator details are incorrect, but everything else is fairly acceptable, as they’re detailed for my own road, not CN or VIA.:
Thanks Artur. Yes, the fuel tanks were built-up from styrene. I also re-arranged some of the body panels, and sliced off the rear of the roof, then rotated it to get the fan in the proper place. Here’s some pre-paint photos:
