Cabin Lights Wont Illuminate

I am tuning up some of my engines and noticed after i cleanded my track and the wheels on my Bachman Norfolk and Southern GP50, my cabin lights breifly illuminated and then went out. I didnt even know the numbers and cabin illumanated in the first place. Anybody know how to fix them so they stay on?? (The Bachman came with the EZ Command Control Box)

I’m guessing that there was a loose wire that you “disturbed” enough to get the lights to come on, but now it’s loose again. But, I don’t have one of those engines so the interior details would be a mystery to me.

Go to the Bachmann website and download the documents. They are DCC on board link.

There is one light in the front and one light in the rear. They are LED’s and attached to the decoder PC board. I just looked at the diagram page.

According to the diagram, there are six wires. Four are for pickups and two are for the motor. The LED’s are soldered to the PC board.

I am not familiar with this loco. Do other locomtotives work ok?

Does the loco operate normally otherwise? Does it have a front and rear light or just one?

Remove the shell and and check the wiring, get back to us and then we can go from there.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Below is a link to the latest diagram for this loco.

Ok so, after taking way too long to remove the body here it is: nothing looks abnormal to me…

Connetctions may not be great but nothing is loose or dangling off. Locomotive operates properly on the track all my other locos work just fine.

Thanks

Looks like it just has a headlight and a rear headlight, no extra cab lights.

I suspect something bumped the headlight and it reflected a bit back into the cab.
