Question! What is a cabin? What are they for? Are they still in use today? You know like CB cabin, or NW cabin. See them on layouts. Have not notice them fpr real, so just asking. thanks. Ed
Are you talking about signal ‘cabins’? That is just a regional or railroad specific term for an operator controlled interlocking tower.

Cabins also means cabooses in “Pennsy-Speak” but given the context (NW Cabin, CB Cabin, etc) that would be a signal cabing.
