cable tie down material

ive read articles on using thread as a source for cable tie downs on flat cars.

I use Waxed Fly-tying Thread. You can get it in diameters down to 8/0. i use that sise to bundle wood bunks and larger diameters for tiedowns.

I model “N” Scale

guitar strings look good for metal tiedown material/cables

I have a spool of metallic thread I borrow from the wife’s sewing kit from time to time.

I’ve heard of using lycra thread like they use in sports bras. It stretches and isn’t supposed to get fuzzies. I haven’t found any to try it yet but I’ve heard it works for telephone wires too.

ok guys thanks for the tips ideas and help im gonna check into all these ideas
