caboose industries ground throws

hi

has anyone found a way to instal 202 ground throws to atlas mar i-v turnouts. Everything i’ve read isn’t handy or not clear.

Help?

One of the ends provided with the ground throw will (theoretically) connect to the end of the throwbar. According to this, http://www.cabooseind.com/GroundThrows, it is the hook end connector.

The 202 ground throw does not come with different end fittings, just a vertical pin on the slide bar.

The Atlas turnout throw bar can be easily modified to accept the pin on the 202 ground throw. Cutting off the bulge on the top of the throw bar will expose two holes. If you want your ground throw to be closer to the rails, shorten the throw bar end leaving only the inner hole. Take a look at the holes on the bottom side of the throw bar so you can see how this will work before cutting anything.

Modifying the throw bar in the manner means you will no longer be able to use Atlas #52 or #53 style switch machines.

There are a number of Caboose ground throws that do not come with the assortment of adapters. I was surprised, however as the others have the pin on the ground throw so it is easily fixed to the switch.
