Caboose marker lights?

Not sure the technical name for them but does anybody make working lights like the ones you see on the side of cupola’s? Battery power would be great.

Thanks!

Matt; LGB have both European and American marker lamps and i think they will run on nearly any electrical power you like. I am hoping to get an Alpine Baggae car and illuminate it both inside and out with these light. You can also get a kit which allows you to pick up power from the rail via the wheels or from a powered device such as a loco or a lighted carriage. I use my post office van for power supply for my little fun train.

Regards

Ian

Ian, do have a link to a picture? Is this a seperate"kit" I could add on to my someday scratchbuilt caboose?

Matt wait out for a while and I will have some LGB numbers for you, it is mid morning here so it must be evening there. I would normally be working on my layout that why I havent been on the forum much latley but I’m crook (sick) at the moment got a summer cold or the flu or something will have something for you in about 15 minutes

Rgds Ian.

Hey Ya’ll

Ian, right no its 9:27 here in Myrtle Beach.

Nick

Ok Matt

The LGB number for the European marker lamps is 68331, there is an American one as well I think but I don’t know its number. The ball bearing wheel set with power pick up is 67403. These are exxy but you will be amazed at how well your rolling stock will go. I have a number of luxury coaches plus my post office van (LGB 32190)equipped with them and you can’t leave them even on the slightest grade or they will roll away from you they are so free wheeling.

I have taken a photo its on it way to you hope you can discern it.

Rgds ian

PS they aren’t really a kit just the parts required so I guess their a kit of sorts.

Ian

Again I leave you with http://www.briansmodelcars.com/tutorials/tutorial.asp?TutorialID=31&CurPage=1 You can get these to do anything

How are you going on this Matt?

Ian

Not sure yet, I’m more or less thinking ahead. My boxcars are ready to paint and the wheels and detail parts are coming so I’m planning ahead for my next project. I’ll let you when I get to that point. Also Ill e-mail out boxcar pics upon completion.

Matt Ozark Miniatures has 2 different marker lights, Cat # 1028 & 1030. These can be made to work with a little drilling.

Phil, I saw them while making my order list. Now that you told me that I better add them[;)].

Matt,

Tomar Industries make marker lights in G-Scale.

jpmikesh, Thanks for the link, they look good I only wish I could compare them to Ozarks in person to see what would look best[X-)]

Hey Matt,
Glad to hear you are working on your projects. I would love to see some pics of your work! Later eh…Brian.

I’ve used the Tomar lights, and they work well. They may be just a touch small for 1:20.3. If I recall, they’re about the same size as the Ozark ones, unless they’ve come out with larger ones (a definite possibility.) Certainly worth an e-mail to both to find out the sizes.

Later,

K

Matt, these are the Ozmin caboose marker lights

buy both…[;)]

I bought a pair of the Tomar Industries Adlake caboose marker lights and they are pretty cool. My problem is that I want to trade out the incandescent bulbs that come with the marker lights for LED’s. Apparently this is possible because Tomar sells replacement bulbs. It is not apparent to me how to remove the bulbs without major hacking. I have tried contacting Tomar but no response so far. Has anyone attempted to do this?

Toenailridges: Where does one find the Ozmin marker lights?

I hope someone can help you. Phil hasn’t posted since last year and Matt hasn’t posted since 06. Dont know what’s happened but alot of long-timers here have gone away. The economy hasnt been kind to a great many folks.
