Caboose Question

Hi all, been away for a bit but back in the states once more :O)

Anywho, I’m planning a small branch line that will be connecting to my main Union Pacific line ((Iowa Interstate)) and have pre-ordered a GP ((from Walthers)) which I’m very excited to see… but the other night while catching up on my Model Railroader magazines, I was wondering what the heck to do about a caboose!!! They don’t make an Iowa Interstate caboose, nor have I been to find one on the net. What do I do??? Run a UP caboose???

This one ( http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=86582 ) is ex-ATSF, so why not get one and do as good a paint job [:D]

I would think a UP caboose would be just fine…

Or no caboose. The UP doesn’t use cabooses on most trains.

Pathfinder- Interesting pic. I’ve never seen a horn on a caboose before. Or maybe just never noticed. I guess they would just run it off the brake lines.

This Athearn caboose would make a good stand in:

Yup, just a little red paint and a horn… Voila! Done!

And what is with that horn anyway? Thanks loathar, I did not even notice.

[bangshead] That horn means the train does make long backing moves across roadcrossings. [DUH!]

Thanks all, will most likely be what I’ll do… paint one and then run a U.P. 'boose every now and then as needed.
