I just saw an old Bev-Bel boxcar on eBay for the Cadiz RR. Never heard of this road before. Can anyone provide a bit of background on the Cadiz Railroad?
I work for a company that has a plant in Cadiz, KY. I’ve been to that out-of-the-way (and dry) place a few times, and if the Cadiz RR is indeed based in that SW KY locale, I’d like to buy that lil’ ol’ boxcar and have it on my St. Louis, Mo basement empire.
Thanks,
Bill Field
Unlikely to have anything to do with Cadiz, California but it is the present day interchange with the Arizona & California and BNSF. Used to be Santa Fe all the way.
Visited Cadiz a year ago. Nice isolated spot to view fast freights. I-40 bypasses Cadiz and old 66 is the only way to get there.
Last time through that area in Ky they had an old switch engine at the off ramp to Cadiz.Yellow paint black letters saying cadiz RR. Been a while so not sure if it is still there.
