Afternoon all -
Was reading the business section of our local paper this morning, and came across the above article. It is some interesting reading, especially when you get to the part of “How realistic the project is remains to be seen. The Standarts’ trucking company is small, this would be the first container distribution facility they have tried to build and it isn’t clear how they will finance the project.”
Since I drive by this field every day going to work, and the fields southern boundry is the CSX Intermodal Terminal here in Syracuse, one must think… ‘Have they approached CSX about this yet? Wonder if CSX would even consider allowing this company to just buy the current facility, run it and expand it as necessary?’
Well I’m sure there are many Pro’s and Con’s to this, so if anyone else would like to add their [2c], please feel free to do so

Sounds like they figure someone has to unload all those containers destined for Walmart! Or this may just be a new wrinkle on the “Interrnet” company bandwagon!!

I used to go and watch the Yard there in Syracuse when I went to do Duty for the Guard Outfit there. I’ve always liked the layout of the Yard and I can see that expansion to the North is possible. Looking at some of the pics on golive.com one can see many neat modelling choices in that yard. I’ve been wanting to include this section in my next layout.
