The environment was sacred to the left in this country, except when it conflicts with another one of their pet projects. I guess money really does talk.

So when it is a pet project, these folks will exempt themselves from all the burdens and rule impose on the productive sectors in our society.

Enviornmental elements are one reason California is broke.

Protecting the environment and a healthy economy don’t need to be mutually exclusive, and wanting to live in a reasonably healthy environment isn’t a socialist idea. I believe it was that pinko Nixon who signed the Clean Air Act, wasn’t it?

The Moonbeam has spoken. Eco-terorists in favor of the environment must take a back seat to the eco-terrorists in favor of moving California closer to dystopia. Wait. That makes no sense. But since when do any dystopian Marxist agendas make sense?

As for the so called high speed rail project, anybody else see a government run pork barrel money laundering money pit of corruption with no return on investment? If you live in California, don’t worry. The other 56 states will pay for it.

Anytime you want delays, massive cost overruns, corruption and incompetence added to anything, just add Government bureaucracy and liberals!

I think it’s about time that Gov. Moonbeam grew a pair. The environmentalists have became such a politically correct, rich and powerfull group no one wants to fight them because they make anyone that defys them into the bad guy. The have destroyed business, infrastructure, and actually the environment by introducing non native species to stop projects. The Spotted Owl, snowy plover, and the darter snail are some of the red herrings they have introduced.

On the surface, I’ve been following the news and developments of California’s HSR Project, and while I am (in spirit) in support of this project, in my opinion, high speed rail in California is not going to work. California is just too large a state and the major population centers are too far apart to justify this experiment. Couple this to the massive cost overuns recently revealed, the logistics and construction issues, along with voter sentiments to bring back the issue and re-vote on the HSR issue, and you have a bunch of angry California voters who “see” the truth where the politicians cannot.

John Scott from Florida must have slept through the Bush/Cheney years when multi-billion dollar contracts were handed to their good friends and former employers without bids. In the case of KBR/Halliburton, about 25 US troops were electrocuted by faulty wiring installed by these companies. Then there is the rotten food, deadly fumes from burn pits and $10.00 jugs of water.

Of course, the companies were protected from lawsuits by our conservative friends. It doesn’t matter how many troops are murdered as long as the profit margin is defended.

Ah, the liberals are so silly, too bad WE pay for their silly conduct. Readers: Your vote has a consequence, if you vote for the wrong people, there will be consequences and they will not be plesant. The environmentalists have to be shoved into irrelevance and there is but one way to do this: Your vote. It may seem to be an act of pointless resistence to the “Man”, but it IS possible to save this country, but we are 7:30 into the fourth quarter. They have the ball. They have lots of money and (legal) talent. They have the lead, but this can be fixed. It is close to being too late, however the courts will be corrupted if we keep electing socialists.

Governor Moonbeam seemed to love anything liberal during his terms many years ago, but he seems to have come back toward the center of the earth as he has aged. Perhaps this exercise in futility will actually put the spotlight on how the costs of any project escalate if it is stopped by court action.

Money also talks when the far right, content to live in their gated communities, drive Hummers and send the sons and daughters of liberals and the poor to secure the oil they need to support their chosen life style. As the Koch Brothers who they fund “think tanks” with anti-rail agendas. The answer is to keep American hooked on oil and riches flowing into their pockets. The use of money to sway the American citizenry is not all one sided, which is why the California High Speed Rail project is in their gunsights, as are many other rail passenger projects nationwide. “Keep 'em behind the wheel and using as much oil as possible” is their goal.
