Wow!
This so cool… who would have imagine such a law… where is Perry Mason in “High-Speed Rail Authority v. All Persons Interested”…
The Case of Litigious Bullet Train
As a native Californiaian I’m glad I left my home state 3 plus decades ago, I loved that state, it’s been destroyed, now I’m going to be leaving my adopted state because of the same idiots, be careful what you wish for and whom you vote for. God bless America.
Crosmer, since when does California have a revenue problem? Our state government squanders money like drunken sailors.
If the big spenders here can finally screw up Proposition 13, we’ll probably find ourselves #1 in income, sales, AND property taxes, with a predictable effect on our already dreadful business climate. California is, and will probably continue to be, a textbook case of how bad public policy can make a mess of even a place with great natural advantages.
By the way, regardless of the whopping lies told to sell it, Proposition 30 money is going to go to help backfill our desperate public pension system, and little else.
Not to politicize, but without Prop 13 ( for you out of staters, locks property tax in at the price you bought your house, not the price liberal out of staters moved in and paid at inflated prices years later, just because they are richer than you) saved many old poor widows from losing their family homes to tax assesors when property values here soared due to rich speculators! Just fact, Go HSR!

here’s a chance for the truck driver from Illinois to sue those California Socialists.
A story like does not suprise me in California. This state will not stop throwing money away.I have lived here my entire life and have seen this state go from being the best to one of the worst. The politicians at all levels go out of their way to stop anyone who try’s to stop the out of control spending. Our taxes continue to rise from local to state level and many people have decided to throw in the towel and leave the state. The attitude at the state level is “let them leave, someone else such as illegal immigrants will fill the void”.Very sad
I’m surprised Guse has not commented on this! California is broke because of Proposition 13, and until it is amended, voided, or otherwise changed, California’s financial woes are going to continue. That’s the consequence they are paying for listening to that piece of Libertarian party garbage they passed in 1978.
Hooray! Whatever it takes to stop this nonsense. And Mr. Crosmer, Prop. 13 set the greedy politicians back only temporarily. Gov. Brown and his union buddies are now feasting on the loot from the recent Prop. 30.
