Article on moving a Minneapolis themed layout from California to Minnesota.
Quite a project! Was it originally built with the idea of moving it in mind? Just goes to prove a large layout can be successfully moved if the space available or desigh flexibility make it a fairly easy fit.
If I ever get started on my “dream” layout, I plan to build it in seceions that will move out of it’s current space fairly easily. Since I am planning it as a perminant layout, it will take some scenery repairing and probably cutting and rejoining rails to seperate the sections.
Where possible I will make the scenery easily cut and repairable near the seams.
Keep us posted on the project.
Good luck,

I’m not personally involved - but I am guessing not since they had to make a 10’ opening in an exterior wall of the home in order to get sections out.
Another reason to go visit again this year. The addition of the ‘toy train’ building certainly added to the experience of visiting the model railroad club. The main layout makes me want to switch to O scale when I visit. If only a person had the room for it in their basement!
