California State Railroad Museum - Sacramento

WOW! That is all I can say to what awaits you at the Cal RR Museum in Sacramento! I took a trip up north for Christmas and got some photos of this place - unbelievable!

My favs are the Wood Burner 4-4-0 and the UP 0-6-0 slope-back switcher. Take a look…

The wood-burner is one of several: the “Sonoma” is also a narrow-gauge locomotive, in addition to the other two standard-gauge 4-4-0s at CSRM, the “Gov. Stanford” and the V&T 4-4-0 across the way from the “Sonoma” and passenger cars. The 0-6-0 is a coal burner, and the two big SP locomotives burn oil.
