Calumet Tower demolished today
Geez, is nothing sacred? lol
Another one bites the dust. It’s amazing how long the last few towers have lasted, given the advance of remote control and computer technology. Still, there was something very “railroady” about a tower op filling in his OS sheet or reversing the levers.
Another one’s gone … another one’s gone. another one bites the dust. Sad that another part of the good old days style of railroading that I first enjoyed on the Erie Lackawanna in Meadville, Pa. is gone. But the times they have changed as progress is never ending.
Just anuther lonely crossing ,on the landscape. Is RRoading,loosing its ROMANCE? sad.
Drive by it two times a day going to and from work.
