[#welcome] guest5234,

A little more information would help, like what track size does it run on? H.O, S, O gauge.

Sorry HO and I believe it is a generic model, rather than a ‘specific’ prototype, Great Northern R class mallet maybe?

looks like an HO locomotive. if so, the boys on the Model Railroder site would know more.

Most likely Rivarossi, 70s-80s vintage. They had the large wheel flanges and small motor pictured. Is the body plastic? If so I think they were the only ones doing these large articulateds in plastic back then.

You may be on the right track, but look into this being AHM. It has the appearance of a Y6b 2-8-8-2 Mallet of USRA design. However, I do not know off hand if GN had these in their livery. Some details are hard to make out in photos, but I would guess your model was made in '60s or '70s. I hope this little bit helps.

Yes, Model of a Great Northern class R1, simple articulated 2-8-8-2…the 2036 was built in Great Northern’s own shops in 1927. The pumps on front of the boiler, the belpaire firebox, and the vanderbelt tender were favored practice on a number of Great Northern’s locomotives.

As far as your model…???
