Im scratchbuilding a diesel house,is there a way
to make your own brick sheets rather then pay
for what they cost? I know the ones you buy are
not to scale anway. Any help? Thanks LarryC.
Larry-The only way I can think of is that you would have to make your own molds which would be time consuming and cast the sheets in a suitable material that would suit your needs. You might also want to check various manufacturers of brick sheets to see if someone carries ones that are in scale.Good luck. Bob
I remember reading YEARS ago that you could make a brick wall by gluing the pieces cut out by a keypunch machine to another piece of cardboard. For those of you too young to know what a keypunch machine is, today we’d call the punch outs chads.
Personally, it’s not the way I’d care to spend my modelling time.
You might follow the lead of aircraft modelers. Some of them vacuum form their own canopies and other parts. Check Finescale Modeler for more info. The whole process could be far more expensive that you’re willing to pay, though.
I think the new walthers brick sheets look pretty good actually.
Thanks for your help on the brick sheets,it sounds
like walthers might be the best way to go.Larryc

It might be even more difficult in Florida, where I understand the chads don’t always separate completely ??? regards/Mike
