Hi all,
I was wondering if DCC can be set up to create in-cab signaling? Maybe some of the hand units already provide this? If not, here is what I had in mind:
When a loco approaches a new block marked with a signal (#1 for example), the aspect of that signal is duplicated to a ‘master signal’. Then when the loco reaches the next block, the aspect of its signal (#2 for example) is now displayed on the master signal.
This master signal could be an city traffic light mounted on the wall for example, and wired to a set of relays. Sounds corny but could be a neat add-on. [:D]

4.3.11 L & R Semaphores-Cab Signaling
The L & R Semaphores are used when cab signaling is implemented on
the layout. More information about signaling and detection will be available
on our web site, www.digitrax.com as these products become available.
Information on how to activate these indicators will be included in the manuals
for our detection and signaling products. Information will also be available
from other LocoNet Certified manufacturers when they have implemented
these features in their software.
The L & R Semaphores will display the following:
= Clear
= Approach
= Stop
(the little graphic semaphores didn’t copy)
So, in a short word, Yes, if not now then soon (relatively speaking)…
