Can you change DCC F12 to operate on F4?

On an MRC HO sound decoder, is there any way to change DCC Function F12 (mute) to operate on F4?

I like to use my Atlas Commander as an extra throttle but it only has F0 - F4. At times I would like to mute the sound from this throttle.

I think you must be asking about function mapping. The short answer is yes.

Some systems will allow you to allot functions to different keys, but not allow you to swap the buttons, themselves. Your manual will tell you how to do that, or the manual for the decoder in question will tell you how to do function mapping.

My Lenz Set 100 system and throttle manuals do not mention anything about function re-mapping. Neither do the MRC decoder instructions.

Maybe I can try the MRC and/or Lenz help desks for more info.

Also, the Function Map tab does not appear when programming the MRC decoders in Decoder Pro.

Most of the better quality decoders such as Lenz, NCE, TCS, Digitrax, SoundTraxx, QSI, etc. support function remapping, but I don’t think MRC decoders fall into this category.

You’ll have to refer to the instructions that came with the decoder to determine if it supports function remapping.

Just received a very prompt response from MRC as follows:

“our sound decoders can not be re-mapped but you can also mute by double clicking F0, [light]”

This works great and solves my problem. Thanks to MRC for a quick answer.
