Can you have working headlights on an HO scale diesel loco with mv lenses?

I’ve searched around on Google for an answer to this, bit I can’t find one.

If you drill a small hole in the back of the lens the same size as the bulb or LED, then glued the bulb or LED in the back of the lens, the MV lens can be lit and the reflectiveness of the MV lens enhances the lighting effect.

Thanks! I cam across a thread on hear about a guy who put DCC in an Athearn HO scale SD40-2 and the guy who started the thread asked if he could use mv lenses. A guy who replied said that mv lenses have a reflective backing like you said and that you’d have to peel it off the back of the lense.
