CANADA OR ALASKA

LIKE I SAID THIS POLL WOULD COME SOON!!!

PLEASE REPLY/COMMENT!!!

Soo Line. I see them on D&H freights somtimes.

looks like I was 1st to vote for Alaska I like them because nobody ever heres about Alaska like derails mergers & so many problems on there line they still have ther own pass service along with VIA

Uhhh…did you say that White Pass and Yukon connects to Alaska Railroad? Well its not so. Alaska Railroad owns 611 miles of track not connected to any other track system. It does operate passenger trains, but mostly for tourists.

CN RULES CP DROOLS

I’m confused - why are we comparing Canadian Railroads to the Alaska?

Considering that my part of Canada looks more like Maine than like Alaska…

I choice Alaska Railroad lovely mountian and beautful area but I like EMD Canda pacfic SD90MAC wow so big horsepower !!! than AC6000 GE

Hay is it a bad thing that eastern Canada and Maine look the same.

Not at all. I rather like New England, based on my limited experience of it.

I was just wondering what the point of this comparison is. My guess is that the poster doesn’t realize that most of Canada bears no resemblance to Alaska whatsoever (aside from the tiny piece of it that borders Alaska), and the Canadian rail network doesn’t connect to the Alaska Railroad.

I thought I’d do my bit to clear up that misconception. How’s this for openers - 90% of the population of Canada lives within 100 miles of the US border. Another neat piece of geographic trivia - Windsor, Ontario, is about a mile due south of Detroit, Michigan. I live in Nova Scotia, at latitude 46 North (3 degrees south of most of the border), and further from Alaska than most of the continental US is, except for perhaps the Florida Panhandle.

So…why compare Canada to Alaska?

no offense “dxr8007” but um the sd 90 mac has the same horsepower the ac6000 ge[/i]

Hey is Nova Scotia still in Canada – thought you guys joined the EEC — your so close!!!
Just kidding it;'s great to hear from someone over on the east side – we do border on Alaska so I guess I had to vote.

The EEC?! Bag that, I’ll join Maine - they’re friendlier. [;)]

No, its the opposite. [}:)]

Here we go again with the forum bashing.

Don’t worry, Doggy doesn’t go on here anymore.

I like SOO Line.

Now, let me get this straight: Nova Scotia is in Eastern Alaska, British Columbia is in Western Alaska, the Capital is a mile south of Alaska where Canada is beneath itself. My question is this: What part of Alaska is Texas in?
