Canadian clubs

Are there any Canadain model train clubs out there??

I’m a member of SMFQ(Société de Modélisme Ferroviaire de Québec) in Québec city, which features both HO and N scales layouts.I model N and my main interests are steamers.

There are many, many clubs here, and I’m sure you will hear from them soon.

Check out the NMRA listing of Canadian clubs - there are dozens and dozens:

Don’t know where you are in Canada but the local hobby shop is always a good source of club information.

George’s Trains in Toronto has information at the store and also on the web site.

FundyNorthern gave you a good link

Canadian Association of Railway Modellers (CARM) began in 2003. Lots of info, contacts and events noted there. Many Clubs and individuals are noted in the membership - all or most in Canada. CARM is based in Ontario, bringing a Canadian focus, and perhaps CARM standards : http://www.caorm.org/

NMRA 7th Division PNR - covers the Pacific North West, I believe Washington State, British Columbia and Yukon, affiliated to NMRA

I am a member of a recently formed Southern Niagara Model Railroad Club located in Thorold Ontario in between Niagara Falls and St.Catharines. We have 10 members and I think 2 more have joined into the membership.

At first I thought that this thread was dealing with a type of Rye Whisky, but I guess I was wrong - again [:(] SIGH! But, yes, there are many fantastic clubs in Canada. I belong to the Temiscouata Model Railroad Engineers in Edmundston, N.B., which is a round robin type club - actually an International type club as we have 5 LARGE HO layouts on the Canadian side of the border and one LARGE layout on the U.S. side of the border. We get together and operate each others layouts every Friday evening with each of us taking our turns. This is a great way to have fun and enjoy model railroading and to get your friends to help with a problem you might have on your layout.

Saskatoon Saskatchawan has a model group with a good website. Lots of info on decoders, with info on Bachman’s Consolidation. Don’t have their address right off, but check Digitrax website, or search on Yahoo!.

I live in Redcliff Ab. A small town with a population of about 5000. There are only 3 model railroaders that I know of in this small town and we dont have a club. but Iv been thinking about starting one. Im sure there lots off good clubs out there.
