If the Brits do a typical restoration job on that engine, the Canadians will be getting it back in far better condition than when they sent it.
Pictures!!! Pictures!!! We need pictures!!!
I wish the Brits would also re-paint the A4 from the NRM to its original LNER colors.
Wonderful co-operation between museums – especially when another continent is involved!
What the story does not say is that Domion of Canada will be restored to its 1937 condition, albeit cosmetically!!
If you have never visited Exporail, be sure to put it on your bucket list. The collection is extensive, well maintained and presented, and the employees of the museum are very friendly. It is nice to see that the museums are willing to loan the locomotives to the York museum, and it will get repainted as well.
I’m not too happy about NRM shipping the Dwight Eisenhower to the UK without consulting the membership. I hope we get it back.
