Does anyone know why isn’t CN participating in CREATE?
I would have loved to see that one.
Surely at Blue Island it got onto the old GTW and took that to Harvey where it then got on IC trackage. I doubt very much it made two back-up moves to take the IC Blue Island branch to Kensignton and then go south on the IC main.
I believe CN thought, with its purchase of the former EJ&E, that they could completely bypass the Chicago-area rail bottleneck and thus avoid participation in CREATE.
On another note, a friend showed me a cameraphone shot of the observation car at the end of this train. Rather than an open platform, the end of the car has a wall-to-wall picture window with 3 tiers of ‘stadium seating’. TRAINS, if you have a picture of this unusual car please add it to this story!
