While looking at pictures of Canadian widecabs, in particular CP SD40-2Fs, I noticed that of the 25 locomotives in the 9000-9024 series, all but about three units have the three classication lights (white, red, green) on each side of the nose above the number board. Why on some and not on the others? Are they taking them off?
Well that explains it then. Most of the pictures I have seen show them still installed, except for the few. Thanks.
Dan
The CP 7000 series Baldwin switchers were often used in road service along with the 8000 series Baldwin Road Switchers on the E&N Railway. The DS4410 switchers were originally supposed to be used on the Lake Cowichan Subdivision, hauling logs from Lake Cowichan to Ladysmith via Hayward Jct.(Jct with Victoria Sub), but over a few years the yard switchers began to show up on other E&N trains, they also started going over to the mainland, and could be found as far east as Kamloops.
