I had seen the news a couple of days ago but haven’t had a chance to post anything until now. Canadian Pacific’s Holiday Train will operate on the former ICE on December 5-6 starting at Pingree Grove on the 5th and working westward to Savanna, Clinton, the Quad Cities and Muscatine. Then, on Saturday (12-6) it goes back up the River to stop at Bellevue, Dubuque, Guttenberg, Marquette, Lansing, and finishing up at La Crescent. Only wish I could go back home that day to watch it but unfortunately for me it’s the same day as the UCLA-USC game and I’ve got to root my Bruins on against those dastardly Trojans from across town. Hope somebody can get some pix.
Well, according to the schedule, it’ll be in N.E. Iowa (Guttenberg, Marquette, Lansing/New Albin) in the late afternoon. Of course, I live in the Twin Cities anyway so it’d be a moot point for me anyway unless I wanted to come back home again that weekend. I should be able to catch the thing when it comes up here the following weekend.
Actually Carl its almost like "Hey we are back!!"That is so cool that we will be getting them in the Quad Cities. Been a great year here for special rail activity.
Now maybe we can get their steamer here next year.
