Canadian Pacific Holiday Train

Anyone else catch this this year? Just got back from seeing it in Agassiz (sans camera, i’m afraid). Quite the spectacle. Hell of a neat thing for CP to do, seeing as how it’s all to raise support for local food banks. Plus, it’s always fun watching the boy’s eyes light up as that thing down the tracks gets bigger, and bigger, and bigger…

I missed it, is there a schedule for it? Never mind I found one.

It is always fun and something special when the CPR holiday train comes around! And they do good deeds collecting food for Pantry donations.# # Holiday Train

Making a difference, one stop at a time

The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train has hit the rails again and will be visiting over 150 communities across our network. Each event features a boxcar stage, a lineup of great musical talent and a contribution to the local food bank. Everyone who attends is encouraged to donate food and money which stays in their community.

Since it’s inception in 1999, we’ve raised more than $6.4 million and over 2.6 million pounds of food in the U.S. and Canada.

Canadian Holiday Train schedule and entertainers

The Canadian Holiday Train will embark on its three-week journey on November 28 from Beaconsfield, Quebec, finishing up in Port Moody, BC, on December 18.

Entertainers on the Canadian train include Doc Walker, Miss Emily, and the Brothers Dube</

I’ve seen it every year for the last 8 years or so. If you haven’t seen it in person it is something your going to want to see sometime in your life time.

Yes, Galaxy, thank you kindly. I didn’t even think of posting info from the CP website. Kudos!

I saw it a couple of weeks ago, by accident. My work is right next to a set of CP tracks and I saw it go by as I was getting ready for work one morning. The lights were off, but it still looked really cool, especially with the passenger cars on the end of it!

Here is a pic from years gone by.

As a major shareholder of CP. (I have 3 and a half shares) I now proclaim it

The Christmas Train.

Any Holiday you may or may not celebrate.

Hence, only the name, “HOLIDAY Train”.

Just enjoy the TRAIN part of it, we train buffs can CELEBRATE that !
