Canadian Pacific In Richmond, B.C.

I remember growing up in Vancouver and doing some train watching in the Marpole section of the city. It was there that Canadian Pacific crossed over the North Arm of the Fraser River into Richmond. There was some warehouses in a industrial park that they serviced and that time they went to a cannery in Steveston. I believe the rails to Steveston were pulled up some time ago. Does Canadian Pacific still service any businesses in Richmond?

I believe there is still some business on the Richmond side, on the Van Horne spur.

BTW, CN is looking at removing its line through Richmond and replacing it with a shorter one that doesn’t go over as many crossings.

Thanks for your response.

I noticed Burnaby under your user name. I grew up in Burnaby by Smith Avenue and Canada Way. I saw my first train - CN Passenger - at the Willingdon Avenue level crossing in the early 60’s. I’m dating myself here as it’s now the Willingdon Overpass since about 1968 and it’s been VIA Rail for how long now.
