Hi Guys.

Anybody know what year CP started using the multimark on there locos? I don’t want to buy any diesels that are not painted steam era colors.

The multimark scheme was introduced in late fall of 1968. Which means it would have really began appearing throughout 1969 and the maroon and grey scheme was pretty much all gone by 1979.

Also note that the Script lettering was introduced around 1963, and the block lettering on maroon and grey was used in the 1950s.

The first diesel paint scheme from the 1940s was a completely different tuscan with a broad yellow stripe and black lettering.
