Hello !! It’s a Beaver, the Canadian national animal. CP used the beaver on their earliest heralds in the 19th century, and recently began using it again.

Oddly enough, CP has to have full time employees whose job is clearing up beaver dams near the tracks - they can cause problems with track drainage, to the point of causing washouts of the track. Sometimes the only way to clear the dams is with dynamite.

The Canadian Pacific even refers to itself as “The Route of the Beaver”, at least its portion through the Rockies and Selkirk Mountains.
