I saw this on Trains Newswire but don’t have the subscribtions. Would have been nice to see that big monster in person. Anyone know why its not coming to St.Paul?
The local government said that they could not accomodate the display.
I’m curious about this too. The rejection based upon a cited lack of accommodation seems rather unconvincing. Is there more too this story? I suppose it depends upon whether the accommodation needs to be in a very specific area.

No real explanation, but this confirms it. My guess is it may have gone through Iowa and up the Spine Line, too. I was looking forward to perhaps seeing it, but, oh well. Maybe next year!
Although I am far from an expert, a few weeks ago at Rodeo Days in Cheyenne, #3985 was in the shed and still appeared to be “under construction”. I wonder if she is still not ready for prime time? (Recall that last year, she was supposed to pull an excursion to Colo. Sprs. but they ended up substituting #844 instead.)
I think 3985 is running, or will be shortly, as it has been scheduled for a trip to North Platte in the middle of September.
