Can't find the thread - removing lettering from rtr frt cars

Looked back 25 pages for this topic and can’t find the subject.

What is the best way to remove just the lettering/logo on ready to run freight cars so I replace them with custom decals. Don’t want to disturb the underlying paint, if possible.

I realize this was probably handled to great extent earlier and I appreciate your indulgence. [:)]
