Hi all,
Forgive me if this has been answered elsewhere but I haven’t been able to find it in a search.
I have a recent set of Lionel F7’s that I changed the address of to 96, the first 2 digits of the road number. All was fine running it with DCS 3.1. After I did the 4.0 upgrade, when I tried to access the engine, the reported address had changed to 300 (!) which of course makes no sense, so I deleted the engine and went to add it back in. But I can’t enter an address over 90 now. I thought maybe the 4.01 bug fix about engine 99 missing from the engine list might help, so I upgraded to 4.01. I still have the problem. Any thoughts? Do I need to reset the remote?

Joel,
Good News, Bad News…
Good News, is that with 4.0, you can do TMCC Lash-ups! That is really a significant improvement. I have found it easier to to the TMCC lash-up with DCS, than what it is with TMCC and the Cab-1. Of course doing the Lash-Up with Legacy is extremely easy as well.
Bad News, as a result of being able to do the lash-ups, engine id #'s 90 through 99 are now reserved for doing Lash-Ups. You can NOT program an engine id in that range. Initially that bugged me too, but found a way around it. In my case I use the last 2 digits of the cab number, 4294, I had to change and use the first 2 digits for that engine.
Don, thanks so much for your reply. I was thinking about doing what you did, using the last 2 digits, but I hesitated because finding and flipping the run/program switch on these engines is a pain while they’re on the track. (And there’s more than one because there are 3 powered units.) Ah well, as my dad used to say, that’s life in the putty knife factory. I will do what I have to do and be happy that I can still control these engines with DCS. I do have a CAB-1 but I like to do the startup/shutdown with the DCS remote because there are startup and shutdown keys. I do everything else with the CAB-1.
Thanks again,
Joel
