Can't this sign be fixed!?

[#ditto]

Can’t people spell today? Yes they can, because the address for the above is “ditto.”

Why does this particular “Smiley” continue? … Can’t take it no more… Anyone using this Smiley is subject to my rebuke, without redress… I’m going to the mountains to recharge my tolerance battery. When I get back, hopefully, this smiley will be spelled correctly.

Mark

One solution would be to fix it yourself and then link to it as a photo each time you want to use it…

like this one that doesn’t even exist in the trains.com smiley library…

When might I come for the popcorn and a movie? How’s about Emperor of the North (Pole)? I’ve got the tape.

Anytime… I think my VCR still works…

DITTO! With all the talent, don’t we have someone who can change it? Isn’t there someone from Kalmbach with spelling ability, coupled with computer know-how, monitoring?

Every time I see that smiley sign I want to pronounce the word as ‘die toe’.

A copy of my message to Kalmbach Publishing:

[#ditto]

This is one of your Smileys at your website. The Smiley is holding a sign spelled “Dito.”

How is the sign’s word pronounced? Is it “die toe” or “dee toe.”

However written or pronounced, it has no meaning to me, except perhaps to demonstrate the ignorance of one trying to say “ditto.”

Can’t this Smiley of yours be corrected? If not, why not provide one correctly spelled? I trust you’ll want to correct this (because the editorial standards of your magazines appear to be high) so you don’t continue to corrupt the ignorant nor irritate the educated.

Thanks.

I’m reminded of that Styx song “…too much time on my hands…”

I’m remanded if that Styx bong… “toe mick tome in my hinds”. Or did I mean something similar? Whatever…

I’m sorry, Brunton, but there’s no excuses for shoddy language - we can all make mistakes, but I’m with the spelling police here. Well done, Jeffrey, for showing the way.

Brian

Who really cares??? This smiley spelling mistake has been brought up in the past, get over it. [zzz]

I’m fed up and sick and tired of people who are fed up and sick and tired…

I’m certainly not, and I’m fed up and sick and tired of being told that I am!

T,T,T, Tickin away…

I do.

So there.

OK then explain why you care about a stupid little insignificant sign on a model railroad forum? There are a lot more important things in life and in the world then a stupid little smiley holding a sign with DITO written on it. The word “dito” also means poor you, a show of pitty. It also has other meanings, one in particular doesn’t describe you. Hey I got an idea, why don’t you, Mark and the rest of the smiley police just disable the smiley setting. Think about it, you guys would have nothing to complain about and the rest of us could actually click on a thread that actually has something to do with model railroading. Cool idea, eh???

Wow, did you actually make the icon yourself? You’re taking this awfully personally.

By the way, “pity” has only one “t.” Maybe you could donate the extra one to the sign.

Here’s an idea: If you don’t care about this topic, ignore it. No one is making you read it, so if it bothers you that much, just don’t open it.

And yourelf is spelled yourself. I guess that makes you just as STUPID as myself then eh?

FOOD FIGHT!!!

I didn’t call you stupid.

But if spelling doesn’t bother you, then you wouldn’t care about a typo. However, you managed to mangle the language in that sentence, which is not a typo. The phrase you were looking for is, “…as STUPID as me,” not “myself.”

“Yourelf” is spelled “yourelf.” “Yourself” is spelled “yourself.”
