Looking to purchase an operating car and truck system and was looking in the walthers catalogue at a fallers kit,but being german i want to know if there is an american manufacturer of a similar system .Thanks

Unfortunately, not yet. I’ve made posts about your very same question since 2004.
Best thing we can do is e-mail the manufacturers, including Faller.
I’m surprised that Faller hasn’t introduced any American cars or trucks. Certainly there would be trademark/royalty issues involved but something like this would give a whole new dimension for modelers who model US and Canadian railroad themes.
I actually got the idea from watching a dvd on the wunderland layout in hamburg and it certainly added a lot more realism to the town scenes
