Corman saves a lot of otherwise deleted rail lines. Maybe he can rescue the ones in W.V, Virginia, and Ky.

Any idea on the customer base on this line?

You have to assume Corman has lined up a customer base but that is the tall pole in the tent

Corman will come on the scene looking like a successful and prideful railroad. That’s goes along way in creating shipper interest who could otherwise just as easily see a “rag tag” collection of identity lacking locomotives plodding the line.

A couple of those comments sound like the person who posted them is referring to Mr. Corman as a person rather than as the company that carries his name. I may be wrong, but I believe he passed away a year or so ago. It is great to see his legacy carrying forward.

There doesn’t appear to be an abundance of business on the rail lines at this time because of the track being out of service because of the bridges. There is a plastic’s company in Mullins, SC, another one in NC and an aggregate distribution center in the Myrtle Beach area with a few other existing business that can use rail. I suspect the biggest source of income MAY be the various state’s grants. At any rate the main focus on bringing the railroad back will have to be the bridges judging from the previous FRA rail inspections

You are correct Ed Bates from Texas. “Rick” Corman died in august 2013. He’s and his company are a great success story. Not bad for a guy that started out with a RED dump truck and a backhoe.
