I have used bubble wrap with some success. Also foam wrap, but I don’t know where that can be purchased. I have some from where people sent me things.

Danny,
I’ve wrapped them in paper towels gently then put each down in a box with more padding, layering them a couple of rows high. Make sure you have padding on bottom, sides and top of box, make FRAGILE and carry like a egg. Knock on wood never had any damaged.

You can get Bubble wrap etc and Kinko’s, UPS Store, WallyWorld Etc

When my kids, who are not in their mid to late 30s, were little we wrapped rolling stock in real diapers to be packed for moving. It made it from western Kansas to Southwest Ohio with no damage! Can you still buy real diapers?

The best thing is to keep them in their original boxes. If you don’t have them, old newspaper, paper towels, maybe even bubble wrap would work fine.

Best way is to pack them in the boxes they came in. For cars I add tissue paper, for locomotives I use foam padding (from a fabric or craft store). I then store those boxes in plastic crates.

thank,s everybody for the help.
