Would the 5 million allow 1 round trip per day to continue?
I though that Oregon, being a progressive state, would not want to allow their popular cascade Service collapse.
If you live in Oregon, contact your elected reps (Senator & Congressman) and tell them to keep the Cascades running. If the state of Oregon can grant people who shouldn’t be in the state in-state tuition, they certainly can come up with the necessary funds to keep the Cascades running. It is probably safe to say that most of the guys in Salem have never ridden a train in years, if ever. Don’t try to get on a Cascade when the Mariners are at home unless you have a reservation. They run full on those days.
Can anyone tell us why there are three westbound Cascades daily, but only two eastbound?
This must not be allowed to happen!
@ Jim Lekas - Portland to Eugene (Westward), #503, operates Monday thru Friday; # 505 operates Saturday and Sunday only; # 507 operates daily. Eastward, Eugene to Portland, both trains # 500 and # 508 operate daily. If you’re looking at an Amtrak schedule, you need to pay attention to the “Days of Operation” notes at the top of the schedule columns for each train.
