I live about 2 miles away from a small farm town named Castaila, Ohio near Sandusky, ohio. I am building my first layout a 4x16 table that I would like to base it on the old rails that are now ripped out. There was a grain mill, small depot and at one time a mine about 2 miles away it is also 2 houses down from me my great aunt and uncle now live there and my grandparents have the farm in between my house and my aunt and uncles. I only know about the tracks what my grandfather has told me. But they torn them out when he was 13. If anyone has any information of the railroads that operated and how the tracks were layed out, or even any other interesting information. And this is not related really but I would like to learn about the mine where my great aunt and uncle live now it is at the intersection where Rt.6 and Rt.269 meet by Third Base Tavern, all I know is that they mined gynsin (I am not sure how to spell it), my family once worked their, and we own the farm that they owned and kept the mules and livestock they used. Thanks
