Here’s a fun project
The center line rail car is an exact fit inside the body shell of this athearn caboose
I simply cut the porches off an existing caboose and glued them on the ends of the center line car body
added some more weigh inside the car
it looks much better being towed around the layout as a caboose
Here it is on the layout
After cutting off the porches of another caboose i ended up with what looked like a 27scale ft flat car
and a caboose body
so i cut the center panels out of the body below the cupola and glued them together to give it porches on both ends and now have a usable car
guess I’ll paint it MOW gray
it kinda reminds me of a transfer caboose
Pics are a little fuzzy, but your creativity is obvious. Good idea!
yep sorry about the fuzzy pictures
i really need to remember to use the cameras timer for shots like that
Good project. I wonder if the “prototype police” will approve though?–LOL

I have a similar Centerline car, and found a Bachmann old-timer boxcar body fits the cleaner body; it does sit a bit high for the type of car, but it works. sorry, no photos of it right now.

Good to know about the Bachman old-timer box car i was wondering if another car would also fit
here’s a couple of less blurry photos
